I have always loved the power of stories and how they inspire and influence people. Stories had been such an important part of my life from a very early age that it seems obvious that my career path would involve the art of story telling. My parents would always read to my brother and I and they would always read classic stories with amazing characters from books like Swallows and Amazons, and the Chronicles of Narnia. When I started with Dave and Asentiv I felt that I was working for my business rather than making my business work for me. This meant I wasn’t enjoying my business as much as I could. Engaging with Dave and Asentiv came along at the right time for me as it helped me refocus on what I wanted to do with my business.
Working with Dave helped me to focus on thinking bigger and learning how I can help my clients tell bigger and better stories. It wasn’t easy; there is a lot of focus on why I do what I do and I’d never considered this before as I didn’t think anyone would be bothered. Once I understood that by being able to tell people why I do what I do, I was then able to connect with people who had the same ethos as me, which in turn meant I ended up working with people I liked.
This new understanding has led me to be working on a grander scale and in partnership with larger companies to tell bigger stories. My business now works for me allowing me more time to focus on the projects I want to do, and to spend more time with my family. This change in focus came as a direct result of the work I did with Dave and Asentiv.
